Using Shopify and Worldwide Brands Together

Although Ali Express is a popular source of suppliers, Worldwide Brands and Shopify can be set up together with some effort and in the long term sourcing from the popular American directory can be a better long term strategy for your online business.  In this article I’ll explain why.

Shopify is so easy to use – and one of the key features is it’s ability to integrate with a wide range of apps. One of the most popular is Oberlo, which allows Shopify store owners to import products directly from Ali Express and sell them on their own sites.  It even manages pricing, inventory and fulfilment – tracking shipping right to your customer’s address.

The problem with Oberlo though is that it only works with Ali Express, which is cheap but often unreliable and many of the products are generic or low quality.

That’s why more Shopify store owners are turning to more manual solutions like Worldwide Brands and Salehoo – both large (and paid) directories of wholesalers and drop shippers.  With these directories you will need to manage the inventory, product listings and fulfilment manually – and directly with each individual supplier – but they have many more unique products that are drop shipped from US based warehouses, meaning that shipping and the quality of goods is much better.

Good products and service (shipping) are key elements to building a long term business, and at the moment they are much more achievable with suppliers from a directory like Salehoo or Worldwide Brands than Ali Express.
